Listed at six foot three and 250 pounds as a non-import Canadian, Judges is described on the card as probably the foremost young Canadian defensive lineman in the league, and the cartoon panel captioned A Terrific Lineman drives the point home. He went on to enjoy a long and decorated career with the Alouettes, playing on the 1970 Grey Cup championship team and remaining a fixture on the defensive line through the mid 1970s glory years that included another Grey Cup win in 1974, earning all-star recognition along the way. The 1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL set contains 132 cards printed in Canada with bilingual English and French blue and green backs carrying the O. P. C. marking, and it remains one of the most collected vintage Canadian football issues. this copy presents well with bold colour and good surface gloss on the front. All four corners show light rounding with the upper right and lower left slightly softer than the others, there is minor chipping to the blue border along the top and right edges, and the photo is clean with no scratches or stains. Centering is shifted slightly toward the left and top. The back is clean and legible with no writing, no stains, and light to moderate corner wear, particularly at the lower corners, and I found no creases or wrinkles in either scan. Weighing the pleasing front against the corner wear visible on the reverse, I am conservatively estimating this raw card at VG-EX 4. A solid vintage single for Montreal Alouettes fans, collectors of Canadian born CFL stars, and 1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL set builders. Grade Estimate: VG-EX 4
