1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL Bob Kosid #91 Roughriders Interception Record Saskatchewan Roughriders

$4.00

Before there was a modern Saskatchewan franchise poster, there were defensive playmakers like Bob Kosid, and the 1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL Bob Kosid #91 preserves him at the exact moment he passed the Roughriders’ club record for interceptions. the front is honest about its past, showing a diagonal crease and wrinkled surface through the lower right of the photo across the number 24, fine hairline scuffing in the green jersey, and light white spotting near the photo’s lower left, while the red ROUGHRIDERS banner remains bright and complete. Raw Grade Estimate: VG 3.

1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL Bob Kosid #91 Roughriders Interception Record Saskatchewan Roughriders Before there was a modern Saskatchewan franchise poster, there were defensive playmakers like Bob Kosid, and the 1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL Bob Kosid #91 preserves him at the exact moment he passed the Roughriders' club record for interceptions. This card belongs to the Saskatchewan block of O-Pee-Chee's 132-card set, the last CFL issue the company produced in that era, sold in ten-cent wax packs with eight cards and bubble gum and best known today for the Joe Theismann rookie card at number 27. Cards in this set are organized team by team, which makes the green-and-white Riders sequence, numbers 79 through 92, one of the most collectible runs in Canadian vintage football. The bilingual back gives the specifics, and the numbers are the hook. With four pass interceptions in 1970, Kosid ran his career regular-season total to 28, a new all-time Roughrider Club record at the time, and the French text and cartoon panel repeat the stat, il a intercepté 28 passes. Listed at roughly 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, a non-import with Kentucky college credentials on the stat box, Kosid was exactly the homegrown playmaker the Riders of this era were built around, and his 1970 heroics helped anchor the defense on the club that kept winning its way back into Grey Cup contention, culminating in the 1972 championship appearance against Hamilton. the front is honest about its past, showing a diagonal crease and wrinkled surface through the lower right of the photo across the number 24, fine hairline scuffing in the green jersey, and light white spotting near the photo's lower left, while the red ROUGHRIDERS banner remains bright and complete. The card is centered slightly high, corners are rounded but not chipped, and the back shows tan freckling across the green panel with a faint corner bend at upper left. This is a true Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back with English and French paragraphs, not a puzzle back. We grade this VG 3. The crease through the photo is real and visible at arm's length, which caps the grade, but there is no chipping, no staining beyond normal storage freckling, and the photo face and name line are sharp. A raw 1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL Bob Kosid #91 is the story card of the Riders' back seven in this set, priced here so a Saskatchewan collector can add a record-breaking moment without slab fees, and it ships sleeved, in a toploader, and taped for mailing. Grade Estimate: VG 3
