1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Player Crests Bill White #6 Push-Out Insert Chicago Black Hawks Fresh off the most famous hockey series ever played, Bill White was at the absolute peak of his powers when this 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Player Crests Bill White #6 Push-Out Insert Chicago Black Hawks reached Canadian candy stores. Just weeks before these first series wax packs were opened, White was patrolling the blue line for Team Canada in the September 1972 Summit Series against the Soviet Union, partnering with Pat Stapleton through the most pressure-packed games the sport has ever seen. Back in Chicago he was the steady defensive anchor behind Tony Esposito, earning NHL Second Team All-Star honors in 1972, 1973 and 1974 and helping the Black Hawks reach the 1973 Stanley Cup Final. His calm, rangy, shut-down style made him one of the most respected defensemen of the early seventies, and his cards remain affordable entry points into Summit Series history. The Player Crests insert set is a 22-card Canadian exclusive, each card a die-cut NHL shield in black and red on silver stock, distributed one per 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee first series pack. This is a genuine O-Pee-Chee printing with bilingual English and French push-out instructions across the front of the card; the reverse is the correct blank tan cardboard back showing the embossed outline of the die-cut shield, and collectors should note it is not a printed bilingual back or puzzle back, as the set was issued with blank backs. The shield on this copy has never been pushed out and the perforations are fully intact, which is exactly what set builders demand. the front presents clean and bold with strong silver sheen and crisp red lettering, corners showing light wear with the lower right slightly softer than the others, minor edge rub along the left side, centering close to even with a slight downward shift, and no creases, wrinkles, writing or surface marks found on inspection; the blank back has uniform vintage toning, a clear embossed shield impression and no stains. We apply a conservative grade because silver-front die-cuts from this era rarely satisfy strict technical standards even when they display this well. An outstanding, affordable piece of Summit Series era history for Black Hawks and Team Canada collectors. Grade Estimate: EX-MT 6
