1972-73 O-Pee-Chee NHL Penalty Minutes Leaders #268 Bryan Watson Keith Magnuson Gary Dornhoefer
Net a steel-tested aisle of muscle memory with this 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee #268 NHL Penalty Minutes Leaders single trading card, a rugged three-player League Leaders card celebrating the National Hockey League's most physically imposing personalities in the 1972-73 season and printed exclusively for the Canadian market. Card 268 ranks Bryan Watson of the Pittsburgh Penguins at #1 with the most penalty minutes that season, Keith Magnuson of the Chicago Black Hawks at #2, and Gary Dornhoefer of the Philadelphia Flyers at #3—all three are absorbing and well-known NHL tough guys of that era who went on to distinguished coaching and front-office careers. The front is laid out in the classic 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee three-stack layout: each photo presented in a black-barred mini-portrait panel with numeric rank and team identifier on the left and the nameplate running across the bottom in a slim yellow title strip. Each player's image catches a distinctly rugged look, including a fresh-faced Bryan Watson with his blazing scraggly hair, a young Keith Magnuson with the classic Bruins-era flat-top, and a determined Gary Dornhoefer with his Philadelphia Flyers orange-and-black sweater creating signature contrast. The back is the unmistakable Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back with parallel French ("Joueurs les plus pénalisés dans la L. N. H. en 1972-73") and English ("1972-73 NHL PENALTY MINUTES LEADERS") tables, a small WHA "World Hockey" sponsor mark across the very top, and the trademark red italic "O-Pee-Chee" wordmark and "PRINTED IN CANADA" stamp in the lower-left confirming its Canadian heritage. O-Pee-Chee's bilingual treatment was the most famous trait of the imprint during this era, and any OPC collector building a bilingual-back registry will prize this card. the front corners show soft wear at upper-left and lower-right (the typical OPC diagonal pattern), with the upper-left hint of fibre bend but not breakage. Centring on the front is excellent with only a hair of pull-left to speak of; back centring is mildly pull-low and slightly off-centre. Edges show two very small contact chips, one on the upper-middle and one on the lower-middle, neither compromising the cardstock. No creases, no surface scratches, no wrinkles, no gloss-flip damage visible. Laminate is intact and returns light evenly across the face. Conservative grade: VG
