1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Mike Corrigan #74 Los Angeles Kings

Description

1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Mike Corrigan #74 Los Angeles Kings Add a colorful character to your vintage binder with this 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Mike Corrigan #74 Los Angeles Kings card, printed in Canada with the authentic bilingual English and French back, not a puzzle back. The reverse biography tells a great journeyman story: after a 20 goal breakout season with the Vancouver Canucks of the Western League in 1969-70, Corrigan established himself as the number one left winger in the Kings lineup, and the cartoon caption on the back reveals that Mike collected rock and roll records, a perfect slice of 1970s pop culture frozen on cardboard from the same season that gave us the Summit Series. The front portrait shows Corrigan in the deep blue road sweater against the green studio backdrop, a distinctive color variation within the Kings team run that makes this card stand out in a nine pocket page. The 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee issue remains one of the most collected vintage hockey sets, prized for its bilingual backs, its Canadian card stock, and its green era photography, and Corrigan is an important mid series card for anyone assembling either the full 341 card set or the Los Angeles team page. the card shows honest, even corner wear with slightly soft bottom corners, a distinctive reddish vertical print line running down the left border area from the original manufacturing run, clean edges otherwise with light roughness at the bottom, strong color with no fading or staining, vertical centering of approximately 50/50, and the usual left-weighted horizontal borders of the 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee design, with no creases, wrinkles, or writing visible on the front or back under close inspection of the scan. The bilingual career table and PRINTED IN CANADA imprint are fully intact and legible. A conservative grade estimate of EX-MT 6 weighs the mild corner softness and the cosmetic factory print line, which graders treat as a manufacturing trait rather than damage, so the card may well exceed the estimate at a third party service. Kings team set collectors and vintage hockey fans looking for affordable, character-rich Canadian cards will find this a rewarding buy. Grade Estimate: EX-MT 6
