1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Brian Glennie #216 Toronto Maple Leafs

Description

1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Brian Glennie #216 Toronto Maple Leafs Every Leafs collection needs its blueline warriors, and this 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Brian Glennie #216 Toronto Maple Leafs card delivers one of the most beloved bodycheckers of the Original Six club's post-expansion era, available now from Alex Collect. Glennie was hockey aristocracy before he ever turned pro: he captained the Toronto Marlboros to a Memorial Cup and won a bronze medal with Canada's National Team at the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics. From 1969 to 1978 he patrolled the Maple Leaf Gardens blue line as a fearless, stay-at-home defenseman whose signature rolling hip check became the stuff of legend — the card back itself calls him "one of the heaviest Leafs to rock check" and "a hard hitting defenseman" in both official languages. The front presents a grinning Glennie in the classic blue Leafs sweater against a vivid orange-red background, with the sideways TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS lettering and the vintage blue Leafs logo medallion on the yellow nameplate. The reverse is the authentic Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back, printed in Canada with English and French biography, cartoon, and his NHL career record — this set used bilingual bio backs, not puzzle backs. this copy displays very well.
