Description

1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL Herman Harrison #124 Bilingual Back Calgary Stampeders This 1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL Herman Harrison #124 Bilingual Back Calgary Stampeders card is a highly appealing Calgary single featuring one of the stronger player résumés represented on this sheet. Harrison is pictured in a white Stampeders uniform with red number 76, standing against a blue sky image that contrasts beautifully with the bold red O-Pee-Chee border. The front has excellent visual pop, while the back provides the performance credentials that make this card especially attractive to CFL collectors. The reverse identifies Harrison as an import end from the University of Arizona and notes that Ham was second in the C. F. L. receiving department in both 1968 and 1969, with 67 and 68 receptions. It also records that he was named to the W. F. C. All-Star teams in 1967, 1968, 1969, and 1970, and to the All-Canadian team in 1968, 1969, and 1970. The cartoon panel adds that he was voted the most popular player by fans in 1968. Those details give this card legitimate star interest within the 1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL checklist and make it an excellent target for Calgary Stampeders fans, receiver collectors, and vintage Canadian football historians. The 1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL set remains popular because it combines bold team fronts with bilingual English and French backs, printed in Canada, and filled with period artwork. This is a Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back, not a puzzle back. The front shows a very attractive player image with bright colour and strong team identity, along with light to moderate corner touches, small white chips on the red border, minor edge wear, and a few surface or print specks, most visible around the image and red areas. Centering appears reasonably strong for the issue, though not perfectly even. The back shows expected cream to tan paper toning, darker edge aging, softened corner tips, and scattered small marks, but the bilingual biography, cartoon, and O-Pee-Chee copyright remain readable. No obvious major crease, writing, or paper loss is visible from the sleeve photo. A direct raw inspection would always be needed for a final professional opinion, especially for fine surface wrinkles, but the card presents well as a vintage collector example. The 1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL Herman Harrison #124 Bilingual Back Calgary Stampeders offers All-Canadian credentials, strong visual appeal, and one of the better Stampeders names from the set.
