1971 O-Pee-Chee Bob Watson #222 First Base / Outfield Houston Astros (EX-MT 6)
Own a premium vintage card of an absolute Houston icon with this 1971 O-Pee-Chee Bob Watson #222 card. Bob "The Bull" Watson was a legendary figure in baseball history, celebrated not only for his incredible All-Star playing career but also for his historic work as a front-office executive. Watson was a ferocious hitter who famously scored the 1,000,000th run in Major League Baseball history and became the first player to hit for the cycle in both the American and National Leagues. This gorgeous early-career card shows a young Watson with his bat ready, framed by the ultra-sensitive black borders that make high-grade 1971 cards so valuable. The Canadian O-Pee-Chee variant is highly sought after by completionists due to its limited print run. The bilingual back details his rise through the minor leagues, including his spectacular .325 batting average in the Florida State League. This card is in excellent condition for a 1971 vintage issue. The black borders retain a strong, dark appearance with only a few minor specks of edge chipping. The corners show very slight touches of vintage wear but remain relatively square and crisp. Image centering favors the top-left on the front. The bilingual yellow reverse is phenomenal—bright, crisp, and totally free from any binder marks, stains, or creases.
