Description

1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Maki #58 Vancouver Canucks Honor the memory of an early franchise star with this 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Maki card. This iconic piece provides an emotional hook for vintage collectors who appreciate the pioneers of West Coast hockey. Wayne Maki was one of the most talented offensive weapons on the initial Canucks squads, breaking out during the 1970-71 season to finish as one of the club's top goal scorers. His hard-nosed forechecking and brilliant chemistry made him a fan favorite in Vancouver before his tragic and untimely passing a few years later. The reverse side tracks his career progression and points out his status as the second highest scorer for the club in their inaugural campaign. The card utilizes the classic O-Pee-Chee bilingual back format with dual English and French descriptions. A detailed shows mild corner wear that is consistent with long-term binder storage. The edges are well-preserved with typical minor paper aging. The card exhibits slight off-center alignment on the back, but the print remains bold, crisp, and clear. There are no notable surface creases, stains, or ink marks anywhere on the reverse cardboard surface, preserving its vintage appeal. Grade Estimate: VG-EX 4
