Description

1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Jim Roberts #116 St. Louis Blues Hockey Card Celebrate the early years of the St. Louis Blues franchise with this outstanding vintage hockey card featuring the incredibly versatile utility player Jim Roberts. Released as part of the highly coveted 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee hockey collection, this card highlights a player who was a vital foundational pillar for the expansion franchise, helping lead them to multiple Stanley Cup Finals appearances with his remarkable defensive presence. Jim Roberts was famously known for his elite penalty killing abilities and his rare tactical capacity to seamlessly transition between playing forward and defense depending on what the team required on any given night. The front design presents a beautiful portrait of Roberts in his classic St. Louis Blues jersey set against an attractive teal backdrop, framed by the unmistakable bold orange team lettering at the top. This card is a true Canadian O-Pee-Chee release, featuring a bilingual reverse side containing full career statistics and a short cartoon biographical illustration presented in both English and French text. A close physical inspection reveals that the centering is shifted toward the top-right corner, which is standard for O-Pee-Chee production standards from this era. The card corners display minor softening and a slight touch of wear on the tips, though they avoid any severe rounding or creasing. The card edges show typical minor factory rough cuts but remain free of severe chipping or structural degradation. The reverse side remains crisp and legible with great preservation of the bright green ink and no signs of adhesive residue or writing. Taking all these conditioning factors into account, this vintage collectible receives a conservative Grade Estimate: EX-MT 6
