Description

1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Jim Neilson #112 New York Rangers (EX-MT 6) Honor one of the most reliable and respected defensemen in New York hockey history with this 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Jim Neilson #112 card. Known fondly across the league as "Chief," Jim Neilson was a rock-solid, multi-time All-Star defensive anchor for the New York Rangers throughout the 1960s and 1970s. His steady play, positioning, and leadership were instrumental in making the Rangers a perennial powerhouse during this era. This card is a wonderful piece of hockey heritage, perfect for Rangers fans or vintage set collectors. The front exhibits an excellent portrait of Neilson wearing his classic Rangers jersey, framed by a bold green accent circle. On the reverse, the O-Pee-Chee bilingual back offers full details of his impressive career statistics up through the 1970-71 season in both English and French. The back also includes a graphic celebrating his Indigenous heritage and nickname. Finding high-grade, unblemished cards of key defensive stars like Neilson adds substantial depth and value to any hockey card investment. This card is in excellent condition, showing a beautifully preserved surface on both sides. There are no creases, indentations, or heavy surface marks to be found. The color on the front is fantastic, capturing Neilson's image with excellent clarity against the vibrant green template. The centering is off-center toward the top border, a typical quirk of this classic O-Pee-Chee issue, but it does not distract from the main image. The corners are uniform and relatively sharp, displaying only light signs of handled wear at the tips. The edges are straight and lack heavy factory rough-cut fraying. The reverse is clean, with crisp green text print. Grade Estimate: EX-MT 6
