Description

1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Frank St. Marseille #38 St. Louis Blues Hockey Card This vintage 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee sports card features Frank St. Marseille, a cornerstone forward who epitomized the gritty, hard-working character of the early St. Louis Blues expansion teams. St. Marseille was a reliable and remarkably durable regular player who was known for his consistency on the right wing, routinely delivering solid offensive production while matching up against the top opposing lines in the league. The front of this card features a great action-style pose of St. Marseille on the ice in his full Blues uniform, surrounded by the iconic early '70s retro design styling. This issue is a verified Canadian O-Pee-Chee production, detailed on the reverse with bilingual English and French biographical narratives highlighting his famous hat-trick during the 1970 Stanley Cup playoffs. Evaluating the condition of this vintage asset, the centering is noticeably biased toward the right border. The corners show minor signs of handling wear and light softening, but they do not feature any heavy creases or structural breaks. The borders are clean with minimal edge chipping, keeping the main design fields looking bright and presentable. The back of the card is extremely well-preserved, showing deep, even color distribution with crisp letters and a clean cartoon illustration that has avoided any common age discoloration or marks. This card is an ideal piece for collectors who appreciate raw mid-grade vintage hockey singles and receives a conservative Grade Estimate: EX 5
