The Ultimate Leader
Before he was a three-time Hart Trophy winner and a two-time Stanley Cup champion, Bobby Clarke was a young star proving the doubters wrong. This 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Bobby Clarke card captures Clarke in his second NHL season, just as he was beginning to define the grit and skill of the Philadelphia Flyers. Drafted 17th overall in 1969 after teams passed on him due to his diabetes, Clarke quickly became the heart and soul of the franchise, eventually leading them to back-to-back championships in 1974 and 1975.

This specimen presents beautifully for a raw vintage card:
This specimen presents beautifully for a raw vintage card:
- Centering: The front centering is excellent, approximately 55/45 left-to-right and nearly dead-on top-to-bottom—exceptionally strong for this notoriously difficult-to-center set.
- Corners: All four corners are relatively sharp with only very light touches of white visible under magnification, consistent with a high mid-grade to low high-grade vintage card.
- Edges: The edges are crisp with minimal chipping, preserving the original factory cut.
- Surface: The colors are vibrant and the registration is sharp. The back is clean with no signs of wax staining or heavy wear.
