1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL Moe Racine #48 Ottawa Rough Riders FAIR 1.5 This heavily played 1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL Moe Racine #48 Ottawa Rough Riders card is a true survivor, a piece of cardboard that was clearly carried in pockets, flipped against schoolyard walls, and admired thousands of times by a young Ottawa fan more than half a century ago. Moe Racine deserved that kind of devotion. The Cornwall, Ontario native played every one of his 17 professional seasons with the Rough Riders between 1958 and 1974, winning four Grey Cups and serving double duty as an all-star offensive tackle and the team's placekicker, a combination that earned him the nickname Moe the Toe. The bilingual black back of the card lists him at six foot four and 250 pounds as a non-import, notes his other nickname The Cat, and includes the green cartoon panel joking about his famous toe, while the English and French text mentions his E. F. C. scoring championship. The front shows the familiar kneeling pose in the black number 62 jersey against the stadium backdrop with the red bucking horse logo in the corner, part of the 115-card 1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL set that was printed in Canada and sold only in Canadian shops. this copy is offered strictly as a filler or placeholder and is priced accordingly. The front shows heavy rounding and fraying on all four corners, multiple creases including a visible diagonal crease through the lower left quadrant and additional wrinkles near the upper left, significant edge chipping along every border, and general surface wear with some loss of gloss, though the image and player name remain fully legible and the card is intact with no tears or missing pieces. Centering is shifted toward the left. The back is where the wear is most dramatic, with extensive scuffing and paper abrasion across the black surface, white showing through along all edges and corners, and rub marks over the text, though there is no writing, tape residue, or staining. Given the multiple creases and the amount of surface loss on the reverse, I am conservatively grading this raw card at FAIR 1.5. It is an inexpensive way to add a genuine Ottawa Rough Riders legend to a collection while you hunt for an upgrade, and it carries all the charm of a card that was truly loved. Grade Estimate: FAIR 1.5
