1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL #77 Bob Kosid 1966 Grey Cup Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders EX 6 The ball-hawking defensive back who never seems to get enough credit is a tradition in the CFL, and Bob Kosid wrote the manual for it during the Saskatchewan Roughriders' championship era. This listing is the 1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL #77 Bob Kosid, a member of the 1966 Grey Cup champions and one of the finest interception artists in team history. Kosid was born on February 27, 1942, starred as a running back and defensive back at the University of Kentucky, and signed with Saskatchewan on March 24, 1964, beginning a nine season run with the Green and White. The 1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL set lists him with the old-school tag of offensive and defensive halfback, and the production backs it up. Kosid was a Western Conference All-Star in 1966, the same season he played a starring role in Saskatchewan's run to its first Grey Cup title, and in 1968 he led the entire league with eight interceptions en route to All-CFL honours, one of them returned 79 yards for a touchdown. He retired with 32 interceptions, second most in franchise history at the time, and his nine career playoff interceptions remain among the most in league history. Kosid also handled punt return duties in an era when blocking on returns was outlawed, bringing back 155 punts for 1,124 yards over 141 career regular season games. The Roughriders honoured him with individual induction into the Plaza of Honour in 1997, and the 1966 championship team was enshrined again in 2010. Kosid passed away in July 2025, remembered as one of the most beloved Riders of his generation. measured from the scan, this example is nicely centered with balanced white borders on the front, sharp corners with only light edge wear consistent with raw 1970s stock, and no creases, wrinkles or surface marks visible in the scan. This is the Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back, printed in English and French on a predominantly black reverse with white lettering and green accents, and it is not a puzzle back. The EX 6 grade reflects a well-preserved raw card with bright colour, a clean unmarked reverse and fine eye appeal for a card now in its mid-fifties. For team set builders and 1966 Grey Cup collectors, this is a fantastic card with real legacy behind it. Grade Estimate: EX 6
