1970 O-Pee-Chee Alan Ford #75 Saskatchewan Roughriders EX4

Description

1970 O-Pee-Chee Alan Ford #75 Saskatchewan Roughriders Step back to the late 1960s and early 1970s with this 1970 O-Pee-Chee Alan Ford #75, a classic Saskatchewan Roughriders card that captures an era when two-way football was still a reality and versatile backs were valued for their grit on both sides of the ball. Alan Ford is remembered as an all-purpose Roughriders halfback who played the offensive and defensive game with equal commitment, and this beautifully bilingual Canadian card documents exactly that versatility in his printed position of offensive and defensive halfback. Released by O-Pee-Chee during a golden stretch for the Saskatchewan franchise, the 1970 CFL set was distributed across Canada in wax packs and became one of the most beloved Canadian football issues of the decade because of its rare bilingual presentation, with every reverse carrying both English and French biographical text. As card number 75 in the 115-card 1970 O-Pee-Chee CFL set, Ford sits in the same Saskatchewan team run as Hall of Famers George Reed, Ron Lancaster, and Jack Abendschan, making it an essential piece for anyone building the Roughriders team set. The card front shows Ford in the green and white Saskatchewan uniform with a strong studio portrait and the distinctive 1970 O-Pee-Chee layout, while the back offers his career story in both official languages. This ungraded example shows no obvious creasing in the scan and generally pleasing centering, but given that I could not visually inspect the physical card for exact corner wear, edge chipping, and centering, the assessment below is a conservative estimate; minor surface scuffs and softly rounded corners consistent with 1970 O-Pee-Chee production should be verified in hand. It is a genuine Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back rather than a puzzle back. Whether you are completing a Roughriders team set or simply want an affordable vintage Canadian football card, this Alan Ford example is an honest and satisfying addition to any CFL collection. Grade Estimate: EX 4
