Description

1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Carleton #184 Short Print Toronto Maple Leafs (VG  3) Complete your vintage set with this highly collectible 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Carleton #184 Short Print Toronto Maple Leafs card. High-number short prints from the 1969 series are notoriously difficult to track down, often serving as the missing pieces that prevent collectors from finalizing their master sets. This gorgeous, original card features brilliant colors and unmatched nostalgia from the golden age of Canadian sports card manufacturing. Produced in Canada by O-Pee-Chee, this card displays the unforgettable hockey stick visual styling on the borders that defined a generation of collecting. Because these high numbers were printed in smaller quantities later in the hockey season, their survival rate is considerably lower than the lower-numbered base cards. It stands out as an essential asset for anyone hunting down authentic Canadian hockey cards. Wayne "Swoop" Carleton was a dynamic left winger with an impressive physical presence. He broke into the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, showcasing great skill alongside legendary teammates. Carleton would go on to achieve hockey immortality by winning a Stanley Cup with the powerhouse Boston Bruins in 1970, followed by a highly prolific scoring career in the WHA with teams like the New England Whalers. Owning his short-printed card captures a moment right before his championship-winning prime. This vintage card remains in attractive raw shape. The corners show balanced, soft touches consistent with mid-grade vintage status but avoid major rounding or fraying. The edges show classic OPC rough cuts with light tracking. Front centering is shifted towards the right side, but the main portrait remains beautifully framed. The reverse side features the classic O-Pee-Chee bilingual back in blue and yellow. The back is incredibly clean, showing bright color and zero evidence of pen marks, creases, or major paper loss. Grade Estimate: VG  3
