1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Gary Doak #202 High Number Boston Bruins (EX)

Description

1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Gary Doak #202 High Number Boston Bruins (EX) This 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Gary Doak #202 is one of the nicer-presenting cards in this Bruins lot, and it carries the added bonus of being a genuine high-number short print from the toughest series in the set. Doak was a rugged, dependable stay-at-home defenseman whose willingness to block shots and defend the blue line made him a valued piece of Boston's championship-era depth. Gary Doak's achievements are anchored by a Stanley Cup championship with the 1970 Boston Bruins, one of the most celebrated teams in NHL history. A hard-nosed defensive defenseman, he logged a long and durable career across multiple franchises and returned to Boston for a lengthy second stint, becoming a respected veteran leader. High-number defensemen like Doak are exactly the cards that set builders struggle to track down in clean condition, which adds to this example's appeal. This is an authentic O-Pee-Chee card printed in Canada, and the reverse offers the bilingual English/French write-up and cartoon that O-Pee-Chee collectors specifically seek out over the American Topps issue. One of the standouts of the group. Centering is strong and the borders are relatively even. Corners are sharp for the era with only light touch wear and minimal whitening. Edges are clean with minimal chipping. The surface is bright and glossy with excellent color and no creases or wrinkles detected in the scan. The bilingual O-Pee-Chee back is clean, bright, and free of writing. Grade Estimate: EX 5
