1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Don Awrey #203 High Number Boston Bruins (EX)

Description

1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Don Awrey #203 High Number Boston Bruins (EX) This 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Don Awrey #203 delivers a genuine high-number short print of a two-time Stanley Cup champion at a collector-friendly price. Awrey was a punishing defensive defenseman who came up through the Bruins system and became a reliable, physical presence on the blue line during Boston's rise to the top of the NHL. Don Awrey's career highlights are legitimately impressive. He won two Stanley Cups with the Boston Bruins in 1970 and 1972, and later added a role with the powerhouse Montreal Canadiens, giving him deep championship pedigree. Known for handing out stiff body checks and clearing the crease, Awrey was the kind of defensively minded rearguard every contender needs. As a high number, his #203 is meaningfully tougher to find than his base-series cards, which appeals to set builders. This is an authentic O-Pee-Chee card printed in Canada, and the back features the collectible bilingual English/French biography and cartoon that set the O-Pee-Chee issue apart from its American Topps counterpart. An honest, affordable copy of a tough high number. Centering is acceptable. Corners show moderate rounding and wear with visible whitening. Edges display wear and light chipping typical for the series. The surface shows some scattered soiling/specks and handling marks under angled light, with no heavy creasing detected. Please note there is a small pen/ink notation (a handwritten number) in the top-left area of the bilingual O-Pee-Chee back — common on old collection cards but disclosed here for full transparency.
