The 1966 O-Pee-Chee Batman Bat Laffs Batman #18 card is listed simply as Batman on the checklist, puzzle piece A-3 of Card 10, and is a fan favorite because it shows the technology that made Batman seem modern in 1966. Set story - Topps had access to the Fox Batcave set for stills, this photo captures the large mainframe computer that was actually a prop made of Burroughs adding machines and blinking lights, it was the Google of its day. Bat Laffs backs contain joke The most serious crime a bat can commit is? A. BATnapping, classic dad joke that kids loved in 1966. Canadian print detail - back clearly shows PHOTOS © 1966 GREENWAY PRODUCTIONS and © T. C. G. PTD. IN CANADA along the long edge, stock is cream tan, English-only, not French bilingual, OPC but Topps partnership. For character - Adam West as Batman was the first actor to portray Batman using advanced technology, his Batcomputer scenes inspired real interest in computers for a generation, West later voiced Batman in 1970s cartoons and won TV Land award. Front image is rotated 90 degrees in sleeve but actual card orientation is sideways, colors are strong blue and silver, Batman's emblem centered, centering about 65/35, corners are VG with slight whitening, right edge has minor white ticks, surface appears clean with no hard crease on front, but light impression near bottom left from storage maybe. Back is legs in grass puzzle with BATnapping joke, tanning even, some soiling, puzzle shows Batman's boots in grass from another photo, back corners VG, one light dog ear top right. Overall this is a presentable mid-grade Batcave card that displays well despite slight age. Ships from Woodstock Ontario via Alex Collect. Grade Estimate: VG 3
