1966 O-Pee-Chee Batman Bat Laffs Catwoman Joker #52 Catwoman Riddler Bluebeard Puzzle Back

Description

1966 O-Pee-Chee Batman Bat Laffs Catwoman Joker #52 Catwoman Riddler Bluebeard Puzzle Back Holy Bat-villain team-up alert for serious Batman TV collectors, this is the elusive 1966 O-Pee-Chee Batman Bat Laffs #52 Catwoman Joker card featuring Catwoman, The Riddler and Bluebeard caught in the Batcave control room. If you collect Adam West Batman memorabilia in Canada you know how tough the Canadian T. C. G. printed in Canada version is to find. This 1966 O-Pee-Chee Batman Bat Laffs #52 Catwoman Joker card is from the second of five Batman sets Topps and O-Pee-Chee released in 1966 to capitalize on Bat-mania. The Bat Laffs set is the photo set, not the painted Black Bat set, using actual production stills from the 1966 Batman movie starring Adam West, Burt Ward, Burgess Meredith, Frank Gorshin and Julie Newmar as Catwoman. All 55 cards have a thin white border with a small red number in a circle and the backs carry a corny BAT LAFFS joke and a puzzle piece that builds four larger puzzles of the Penguin, The Riddler, Batman and Robin. This card is puzzle piece B-3 of Card 29. Catwoman was played by Julie Newmar in season 1 and 2 of the 1966 Batman series and remains one of the most iconic comic villains ever, a Gotham City cat burglar with a complicated love-hate relationship with Batman. The front photo shows Catwoman in her classic black catsuit with mask lying across the Batcave computer bank after a fight, the Riddler's question mark contraption in the background, a true action shot that collectors love. This is the honesty section Alex Collect buyers expect. Front centering is about 65/35 left to right with a slight diamond tilt from cutting, the white border is toned but intact. Corners show classic vintage wear, top right and bottom right are soft with slight rounding and corner dings visible in the scan, bottom edge shows white chipping and a horizontal surface crease running mid-card. Surface shows gloss loss, light scratching and age spots consistent with 59 years in a binder. Back is the T. C. G. Ptd. IN CANADA stock with classic browning and tanning, the puzzle image is a partial face of The Penguin. The back shows heavy horizontal creasing and wrinkles under light, some edge soiling and print toning. It is not the later bilingual O-Pee-Chee back, it is English-only BAT LAFFS text.
