Description

1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Fred Stanfield #32 Boston Bruins Center Hockey Card Raw FAIR Fred Stanfield #32 is an essential 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Boston Bruins center card that delivers strong visual appeal and authentic vintage character for collectors chasing a complete Bruins set from this iconic series. The 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee set stands as one of the finest vintage Canadian hockey card productions ever released, renowned for its bilingual English-French card backs, thick premium card stock, vibrant team-color borders, and classic illustrated cartoon mascot illustrations that have made these cards enduring collectibles across North America. Produced by the Toronto-based O-Pee-Chee Gum Company, the series features the distinctive teal reverse design with the circular "O-PEE-CHEE" logo, bilingual statistical blocks, and playful mascot characters—details that collectors, auction houses, and grading services instantly recognize as hallmarks of authentic vintage production. Card #32 depicts Fred Stanfield in his Bruins center pose, wearing the white jersey with the circular "CENTER" designation at lower right and the classic yellow-and-black Bruins crest centered prominently on the chest. Stanfield brought speed, energy, and offensive awareness to Boston's forward lines, contributing secondary scoring and dependable defensive responsibility that made him a valuable two-way player during a competitive era. His presence on the 1969-70 roster connects this card directly to the team's deep Stanley Cup Final run, giving it historical context beyond standard player-card value. Examining the front image, the card shows authentic raw condition with wear patterns consistent with careful vintage storage inside a protective sleeve without professional grading. The top-left corner displays mild softness with a very small surface nick, while the bottom-right corner remains relatively sharp with only light wear visible. The edges show minimal rounding at the top and left sides, with no significant chipping or tearing. Centering is acceptable, with Stanfield's portrait positioned slightly left of center—typical for this era's production variance and not a significant detraction. The card surface retains good color with only light hairline scratches visible under close inspection; the white jersey and yellow trim maintain good contrast. The back image confirms the bilingual O-Pee-Chee design is fully intact: both English and French statistic lines are clearly legible, the cartoon mascot illustration is preserved without fading, and the 1969-70 season stats—including Games, Goals, Assists, Points, and Penalty Minutes—are printed in black ink against the teal background.
