1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Red Berenson #20 St. Louis Blues Scoring Star (VG-EX 4) Celebrate an absolute St. Louis hockey icon with this 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Red Berenson #20 St. Louis Blues card. Berenson was the first true offensive superstar of the NHL's expansion era, making his early St. Louis cards incredibly popular among vintage hockey collectors. This original card boasts great vintage charm and looks fantastic in any collection. This original 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee card displays brilliant registration and a striking portrait frame. Because these cards were produced on traditional cardboard stock in Canada, finding pieces that retain their physical integrity and bright background colors adds significant value to a collector's inventory. Gordon "Red" Berenson shocked the hockey world in 1968 by scoring six goals in a single game against the Philadelphia Flyers, becoming an instant legend for the Blues. A true pioneer, he was one of the first successful college hockey products to dominate the NHL and went on to have a legendary 33-year coaching career with the Michigan Wolverines. This card represents the peak of his on-ice NHL fame. The card is in great vintage shape. Corners show light uniform wear but maintain a strong structure. The edges show standard chipping from the original factory cut. Front centering is slightly biased towards the right border but presents a very attractive frame. The reverse side features the distinct O-Pee-Chee bilingual back, boasting a beautiful clean surface with no handwriting, wrinkling, or typical wax damage. Grade Estimate: VG-EX 4
