On the flip side, the card showcases the traditional O-Pee-Chee green back design with bilingual French and English text detailing McKechnie’s early accomplishments as a highly regarded young center. Walt McKechnie was a reliable center who carved out an impressive 17-season career in the NHL, suiting up for multiple teams and registering 747 points across 955 career regular-season games. This card is a phenomenal addition for anyone looking to complete a vintage 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee hockey set or for fans who preserve memories of the defunct California Golden Seals. This raw card sits comfortably in Excellent (EX) condition. The front centering favors the right side slightly, about 65/35, with neat color retention and a gloss that remains highly presentable. The corners reveal minor softening, typical of light handling over the decades, though they maintain good shape without harsh blunt impacts. Edges show light chipping along the borders but no major indents or structural tears. The reverse green card stock remains remarkably bright and clear; the bilingual cartoon and stat lines show great visibility, completely free from ink marks, surface wrinkles, or distracting heavy creases.
