1973-74 O-Pee-Chee Phil Esposito Rick MacLeish #133 Dark Back 1972-73 Goal Leaders Boston Bruins Philadelphia Flyers (EX-MT 6)

Elevate your master set with this highly sought-after 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee Phil Esposito Rick MacLeish #133 Dark Back variant card. This piece is a rare find for serious hockey collectors, featuring the uncommon dark grey cardboard stock on the reverse side rather than the standard cream color. It celebrates the premier goal-scoring icons of the early 1970s, showcasing two legends from the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers on a brilliant green-bordered front subset design.

Historically, this piece commemorates the offensive fireworks of the 1972-73 NHL season when Phil Esposito dominated with 55 goals for Boston, and Rick MacLeish drove the Broad Street Bullies forward with 50 goals of his own. Esposito was a true powerhouse in front of the crease, using his size to terrorize goaltenders, while MacLeish combined elite speed and a wicked wrist shot to carry his team deep into the postseason. Securing this specific dual-player card in the scarcer dark stock variation adds incredible historical value and exclusivity to any vintage sports memorabilia collection.

A comprehensive Condition Report reveals that this vintage card remains in exceptional mid-to-high grade condition. The front centering shows a minor shift to the left, which is a classic printing characteristic of original Canadian O-Pee-Chee factory production lines. The corners are relatively crisp with only microscopic touches of handling wear, retaining great shape without any heavy rounding or structural softening. The edges present the authentic, slightly fibrous wire-cut look that experienced hobbyists look for to confirm genuine period-accurate manufacturing. Flip the card over to inspect the unvandalized O-Pee-Chee bilingual back, which showcases the distinct dark grey background with clear French and English biographical and statistical text blocks. The surface is completely free of ink markings, wax stains, creases, or surface wrinkles, earning a strong raw grade estimate of EX-MT 6.
