1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Johnny Bower #187 Toronto Maple Leafs HOF (VG 3)

Secure a piece of goaltending royalty with this 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Johnny Bower card, representing the final playing-day set of "The China Wall." Johnny Bower remains one of the most beloved figures in Toronto Maple Leafs history, a four-time Stanley Cup champion who didn't even reach the NHL full-time until his 30s. This card is a vital addition for any Hall of Fame collector, showcasing Bower in his signature crouch. The 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee series is a fan favourite for its "Hockey Stick" design and the classic O-Pee-Chee bilingual back. This card’s reverse highlights Bower’s incredible status as the "oldest active player in the N.H.L." at the time, featuring the iconic French and English text that makes these Canadian parallels so much more desirable than the standard Topps versions.

Despite the wear, this card carries the soul of 1960s hockey. Bower’s legacy in Toronto is unmatched, and his cards from this final season are highly sought after by those completing team sets or HOF player runs. The back includes his career statistics, which serve as a reminder of his dominance during the Original Six era and his transition into the expansion years. For a collector who values the history and the man over a plastic slab, this VG-grade Bower provides an affordable way to own a legendary card from his final year on the ice.

Condition Report:
This card is estimated at a VG 3 grade. The corners exhibit significant rounding and softening from years of being handled. The centering is off-centre, typically leaning toward the right border. You will notice moderate edge wear and some light chipping along the borders. The surface shows some light scuffing and minor print "snow," but the image of Bower remains clear. There are no major vertical creases, though some light surface wrinkles may be present near the corners. The bilingual O-Pee-Chee back is well-preserved with no ink marks, tape, or significant staining, though it shows a natural cream-coloured aging.
