1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Paul Henderson #47 Toronto Maple Leafs (VG-EX 4)

Step back into a golden era of Toronto hockey with this 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Paul Henderson card. Long before he became a national hero for his winning goal in the 1972 Summit Series, Henderson was a dynamic offensive force for the Toronto Maple Leafs. This card captures him during his prime years in the "Blue and White," a period where his speed and agility made him a constant threat on the wing. The 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee set is a cornerstone of vintage hockey collecting, celebrated for its bold graphics and the iconic "Hockey Stick" design on the front. This specific card is a true Canadian classic, featuring the O-Pee-Chee bilingual back that provides player stats and biographical information in both English and French.

Henderson's legacy is intertwined with Canadian hockey history, and owning his early Maple Leafs cards is a priority for many serious collectors. This card doesn't just represent a player; it represents an era where the Leafs were a perennial powerhouse. The reverse of the card includes a charming "did you know" illustration about Paul once playing in a surgical mask due to a lung infection, a detail that adds immense character to this vintage piece. For a collector seeking a respectable, mid-grade example of a hockey legend, this Henderson card offers fantastic eye appeal without the premium price tag of a high-grade specimen.

Condition Report:
This card is conservatively graded at a VG-EX 4. The corners show visible softening and modest rounding consistent with light handling over the decades. The centering is noticeably shifted toward the top-right corner on the front. The edges exhibit minor chipping and shelf wear, which is very common for O-Pee-Chee stock from this year. The surface maintains decent color, though there are minor print defects and light "snow" visible upon close inspection. There are no heavy creases or wrinkles that break the surface gloss. The back is heavily worn at the top with no stains or markings, though it shows a natural age-related off-white tone.
