Description

1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL Ralph Galloway #99 Bilingual Back Saskatchewan Roughriders Add a sharp piece of early 1970s Canadian football history to your collection with this 1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL Ralph Galloway #99 Bilingual Back Saskatchewan Roughriders single. The 1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL set is one of the most recognizable vintage Canadian football releases, pairing bold red fronts, strong team typography, bilingual English and French backs, and cartoon style player notes that instantly separate it from the American football card issues of the same period. Galloway is pictured in the classic Saskatchewan green uniform, framed by the bright red border and the large Roughriders team name that gives this issue outstanding display appeal in a binder, team run, or vintage football showcase. The reverse identifies Galloway as an import offensive tackle from Southern Illinois University and notes his professional path through the St. Louis Cardinals organization before his Saskatchewan appearance. That cross-border football story is exactly what makes early CFL cardboard so interesting, as many players moved between American college football, NFL camps, and Canadian professional football before becoming familiar names to regional fans. This is a Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back, not a puzzle back, with English and French biography text printed in Canada. The front presents well with strong colour, clear name text, and a bold Saskatchewan team area, while the visible wear includes lightly touched corners, small red border chips, minor edge whitening, and centering that appears a little uneven with a slightly heavier lower and right side look. The back shows typical cream toning for the issue, light corner aging, small edge touches, and scattered surface specks, with no obvious major crease, writing, or paper loss visible in the sleeve scan. The card is photographed inside a protective page, so very fine wrinkles or gloss issues cannot be fully ruled out, but the visible presentation supports a strong collector grade example. For buyers searching 1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL Ralph Galloway #99 Bilingual Back Saskatchewan Roughriders, this card delivers a classic Roughriders player, a clean bilingual reverse, and excellent vintage CFL character.
