1973-74 O-Pee-Chee California Golden Seals #95 Team Checklist Dark Back

Description

1973-74 O-Pee-Chee California Golden Seals #95 Team Checklist Dark Back A true team collectors dream and a visual centerpiece for any defunct franchise showcase, this 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee California Golden Seals #95 Team Checklist Dark Back offers both rarity and eye-catching design in one upload-worthy vintage piece. This is the authentic 1973-74 Canadian O-Pee-Chee issue, the checklist card that features ten individual player headshots of the Golden Seals squad arranged in two columns with bold CALIFORNIA GOLDEN SEALS vertical banner, a format beloved by fans of team cards and by those who love the Seals’ late-sixties and early seventies aesthetic. Checklist cards were heavily handled, marked and often thrown away, making high-grade survivors scarce, and this card’s dark back variation stands as the more commonly printed but still cherished version. The back contains TEAM AND PLAYER RECORDS and multiple categories in English on one side and in French as RECORDS DE L’EQUIPE ET DES JOUEURS on the reverse, listing Stanley Cup Championships, Most Points by Norm Ferguson and Ted Hampson, Most Goals and Assists, a historic snapshot of an expansion franchise trying to build identity in Oakland, with ownership by Charlie Finley that crossed over with the Oakland A’s baseball dynasty, a pop-culture tidbit that still sparks documentaries and retro jersey drops today. Holding the Seals team checklist is holding a piece of NHL ephemera that vanished in 1976 when the franchise folded into Cleveland, making every checklist a tribute to white skates, green and gold future. This is positively a Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back checklist, printed in Canada by O. P. C., not a Topps US checklist and not a puzzle back but a records back with orange header panel. Front shows ten small headshots with bright color retention, red border shows chipping primarily on the upper right corner and light roughness along bottom edge, corners are softly rounded with top left showing a touch more whitening, centering is 60/40 side to side favoring left and 55/45 top to bottom, very typical for this large-head team card. No creases through the face collage, surface clean with minor print snow only visible under loupe. The back is the dark stock variation as distinguished from the light back sibling in this sheet, with deep tan cardboard, crisp black print for records, slight age toning and small edge fiber, no checkmarks or pen. No creases or wrinkles present. The conservative grade accounts for corner wear, border chipping and centering bias rather than any major damage, presenting as an excellent display piece for Seals completionists who need the team checklist to finish the 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee run.
