1971 O-Pee-Chee Partridge Family #47 “Family Portrait” Puzzle Back Yellow Series 1

$7.00

There’s something genuinely charming about card #47, “Family Portrait,” which pulls back the camera to show the full ensemble cast, Shirley Jones, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Suzanne Crough, and the rest of the Partridge clan, gathered around their iconic touring bus with its hand-painted mural exterior, one of the most recognizable props from the entire series. The most notable wear is at the top-right corner, which shows visible whitening and slight rounding, along with a touch of edge chipping along the adjacent top border, consistent with a card that sat near the outside of a stored stack. Raw Grade Estimate: EX 5.

1971 O-Pee-Chee Partridge Family #47 "Family Portrait" Puzzle Back Yellow Series 1 There's something genuinely charming about card #47, "Family Portrait," which pulls back the camera to show the full ensemble cast, Shirley Jones, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Suzanne Crough, and the rest of the Partridge clan, gathered around their iconic touring bus with its hand-painted mural exterior, one of the most recognizable props from the entire series. The Partridge Family aired on ABC from September 1970, built around a widowed mother and her five musically inclined kids who become an overnight pop sensation, a premise loosely inspired by the real-life Cowsills family band. This yellow-bordered Series 1 release capitalized on the show's runaway popularity and was one of three separate 1971 Partridge Family card sets produced that year, a rare feat reserved for only the biggest entertainment properties of the era. The back of this card is part of "Puzzle No. 1," one piece in a larger composite image that collectors historically assembled by acquiring the full run of puzzle-back cards, making complete puzzle sets a popular collecting goal even today. This is the O-Pee-Chee issue, the Canadian counterpart to the U. S. Topps release, marked "Ptd. in Canada" on the reverse. OPC's smaller Canadian print runs make this a scarcer find than its Topps equivalent, adding real appeal for set builders north of the border. the front photo is colorful and sharp with good print registration on the cast members' faces. The most notable wear is at the top-right corner, which shows visible whitening and slight rounding, along with a touch of edge chipping along the adjacent top border, consistent with a card that sat near the outside of a stored stack. The top-left corner shows mild softening as well. Centering leans slightly, with a touch more yellow border on one side than the other, though the image itself remains fully intact within the black frame. No creases or surface scratches are present, and the reverse puzzle piece image and set text are clean and undamaged. Factoring in the corner and edge wear concentrated at the top of the card, a conservative raw grade of EX 5 is appropriate here. A solid, display-ready piece of Partridge Family history for fans of the show's ensemble cast dynamic. Grade Estimate: EX 5
