This is the highly coveted rookie card for the legendary Hall of Fame defenseman, making it one of the absolute key rookie cards in the entire 1969 O-Pee-Chee hockey set. Serge Savard is an absolute titan of the sport, winning eight Stanley Cups as a player, taking home the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1969, and anchoring the famous "Big Three" blue line in Montreal. The card captures the young star early in his career within the distinctive vintage stick border format. The reverse features the highly prized Canadian O-Pee-Chee bilingual back featuring French and English text outlining his rookie-era achievements and biography. The back cardboard is clean and free of markings or ink stamps. A stringent shows soft corners with light rounding on the tips and minor edge chipping along the borders. The front centering is off-center, leaning heavily toward the lower-right side, which is a well-known feature of this specific rookie printing.
