Description

1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Jean Ratelle #42 New York Rangers This highly desirable 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee card features legendary Hall of Fame center Jean Ratelle during his sensational prime with the New York Rangers. Ratelle was celebrated across the sport for his elegant skating, immaculate sportsmanship, and incredible playmaking vision, leading the Rangers offense as the center icon of the historic GAG line. This Canadian O-Pee-Chee issue features the coveted bilingual layout on the back with the unpunched, clean "Place Jean Ratelle Stamp Here" box area. Evaluating the structural condition of this piece, the centering is shifted toward the top-right corner, measuring about 75/25 top-to-bottom and 65/35 left-to-right. The corners show mild softening at the extreme tips but maintain good overall structure without severe rounding. The edges show minor factory roughness but are clean of major dings or indents. The reverse side is exceptional, showing deep colors and no evidence of wax bleed, grease pen marks, or surface abrasions, keeping the collectable stamp box in prime condition. With an adjusted valuation accounting for a more critical review of the corner presentation, this Hall of Fame single is placed in Very Good to Excellent condition, making it a reliable addition for collectors tracking down high-profile vintage Rangers singles.
