1969-70 Topps Vic Hadfield #38 Blistering Slap Shot New York Rangers

Description

1969-70 Topps Vic Hadfield #38 Blistering Slap Shot New York Rangers I've made a note that this specific position is the American Topps variant rather than the Canadian counterpart. This original 1969-70 Topps hockey card features powerhouse left winger Vic Hadfield during an era when he was developing into one of the league's most feared scoring threats on Broadway. Hadfield combined a blisteringly hard slap shot with an aggressive, physical style of play that paved the way for him to eventually captain the franchise and become their very first fifty-goal scorer in a single campaign. Unlike the bilingual sheets on the grid, this item is the domestic Topps print edition, immediately distinguished by its single-language English biographical text blocks on the back and the vertical "Printed in U. S. A." text running along the margin edge. Evaluating the condition from the provided high-resolution photographs, the card presents very solid eye appeal. The factory centering favors the top edge at approximately 75/25 and leans slightly left at 60/40. The corners are quite sharp for a raw card of this age, showing only light, minor softening at the top tips while the lower corners remain crisp and squared. The edges exhibit a smooth machine cut with minimal chipping, and the front surface shows great color preservation. The reverse yellow fields are exceptionally bright, completely avoiding the common wax or water stains often seen on vintage card stock. This piece scores a conservative Grade Estimate: EX 5
