Description

1968 O-Pee-Chee Ted Kubiak #79 Oakland Athletics Canadian OPC Infield Bolster your vintage inventory with this 1968 O-Pee-Chee Ted Kubiak card, designated as card number 79 in the collection. Ted Kubiak was celebrated throughout his long major league career as a fundamentally flawless defensive infielder who could play shortstop, second base, and third base with elite precision. His steady presence on the diamond was crucial during the Oakland Athletics' rise to dominance in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This card represents a scarce Canadian O-Pee-Chee parallel, heavily favored by collectors due to its restricted print run compared to standard issues. The portrait displays Kubiak in his classic uniform, bordered by the nostalgic 1968 burlap design. The reverse side features the critical "©T. C. G. PTD. IN CANADA" copyright text along the bottom margin, verifying its authentic northern printing history. The shows that this card has been preserved with utmost care. The corners display very minor softening at the tips but remain structurally square and free from heavy layering. The edges display a neat factory rough cut with no severe chipping or nicks across the delicate brown borders. Front centering is shifted slightly toward the upper-right quadrant, which is a common hallmark of this production run, but it does not diminish the overall aesthetic. The card back is remarkably clean, showing a bright orange canvas with sharp black text free from any pencil marks or storage wear. Grade Estimate: VG-EX 4
