Description

1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Doug Barrie #22 Buffalo Sabres Add a foundational piece of Buffalo blue line history to your collection with this 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Doug Barrie hockey card. Doug Barrie was a rugged, hard-nosed defenceman who brought an essential grit and physical enforcement mentality to the Sabres organization during their infancy in the National Hockey League. Known for his defensive positioning and willingness to stand up for his teammates, Barrie’s vintage card captures the tough, unrelenting spirit of 1970s expansion hockey. The reverse of the card reveals the traditional Canadian bilingual O-Pee-Chee composition, including a playful cartoon highlighting his multi-team journey during his career. A close inspection of the card condition shows decent front centering that leans slightly toward the right-hand border. The edges show standard wear for a paper stock item of this age, while the corners show moderate softening on the tips. The front illustration remains clear and bright, and the back shows minor handling patina without any creasing or significant surface flaws. Grade Estimate: VG-EX 4
